According to the Establishment Guidelines for the Office of Science and Technology Policy, the Office is responsible for the following:
1. Develop comprehensive national science and technology policy.
2. Plan for the overall allocation of science and technology resources.
3. Integrate and coordinate major cross-ministry policy programs.
4. Organize major technology strategy meetings.
5. Collect and analyze technology development trends.
6. Support decision-making and management in the field of science and technology.
